In North Carolina's gentle embrace we found our way

Five girls with hearts so full we'd never stray

From towns with roots that run so deep

We forged a bond that time would keep

At ECU we met and laughed and cried

In Gamma Sigma Sigma our spirits tied

Shelley, Tanya, Lynne, Malissa, Fonnie too

Together we became a crew

In our hearts where we belong

Through the years and all the miles

Together we share the brightest smiles

Shelley taught us to be bold and free

Lynne's jokes and stories filled us with glee

Tanya and Fonnie wise and true

With Malissa’s smile we were never blue

Marriages brought us children, a love so grand

Plaster Peter in each wedding hand

Nine kids from our unions came

Our Fab Five's legacy will remain

Christmas at Mike's farm, we rode the hay

With songs and laughter, we spent the day

Beach trips with kids tucked in bed

We'd drink and call each other 'bitch' instead

But Fonnie fought a battle hard and long

Her spirit fierce, her love so strong

In heaven now she watches with care

Her presence felt everywhere

Ten years have passed since she's been gone

Yet in our hearts her light shines on

Though four of us remain alive
